League Scholarship Description
Colorado Inline Hockey League Will Award"Two" For 2008

The CHSIHL is awarding two $500.00 scholarships. The Scholarship will be awarded to the two candidates who get the highest score on the selection ranking. This scholarship is open to any Colorado High School Inline Hockey League senior meeting the following criteria.

The selection criteria are:

• Three to four (2-3) years total participation as a team player within the CHSIHL prior to
senior year. Total participation can be in the CHSIHL inline hockey divisions of varsity or
junior varsity. If you have participated in other hockey activities, please be sure to
include that, however it is not counted towards the 2-3 year requirement.

• A minimum GPA of 3.5 unweighted. (Obtain your GPA records from the appropriate High
School personnel.)

• A letter of recommendation on school letterhead from a high school counselor, teacher, principal, etc. This letter should answer the question, “Why does this person deserve this scholarship?”

• A letter of recommendation from a coach or manager in one of the hockey activities in
which you participated. This letter should also answer the question, “Why does this
person deserve this scholarship?”

• An essay stating why you deserve this scholarship, what your plans are for it, and include
your views and opinions of CHSIHL and how it has contributed in reaching your goals.

• Demonstrates a high level of sportsmanship.

• Has mastered the sport of inline hockey and capable of competing at a collegiate or
amateur level (i.e. Team USA, etc.).

• Colorado resident.

• Demonstrate leadership skills.

• Be active in your school and community.

You can apply for this scholarship any time from January 1, 2008 until April 12, 2008.

A League Director committee will review all applications in April 2008. The nominees who have
been selected will be notified after April 12, 2008, and will receive their scholarship during post season the Hall of Fame ceremonies on April 20, 2008.

We must receive your nominations for the CHSIHL Scholarship consideration no later than April 12, 2008, so please hurry!
